Front Panel Lights Function and Descriptions

Function Description
STS
  • Normally off, but blinks when the Reset button is pushed on the gateway's back panel.

  • Normally off, but blinks when Apply is clicked on any of the screens in the gateway configuration software.
LAN
  • If you have an Ethernet cable attached to the gateway's LAN port (see LAN in the next table), the LAN indicator blinks periodically. The indicator blinks at a rate that corresponds to the amount of Ethernet traffic (slow with little traffic, faster as Ethernet traffic increases).
WAN
  • If you have a cable or DSL modem attached to the gateway's WAN port (see WAN in the next table), the WAN indicator blinks periodically. The indicator blinks at a rate that corresponds to the amount of Internet traffic (slow with little traffic and increasingly faster as Internet traffic increases).
WLAN
  • The WLAN indicator blinks continually indicating the unit is sending beacons. The light may blink faster when large amounts if wireless data traffic occurs. Beacons are used to synchronize and pass information to wireless workstations.
PWR
  • Normally this light is on. If it is not on, check that the power cable connectors are securely in place.
