The range of each Intel® Wireless Gateway varies with physical objects and interference in coverage area. The rated range is 1500' for line of site, open area, optimal conditions, and minimal throughput. Realistically, in a home, office or business environment, each Intel Wireless Gateway micro cell has an approximate range of 150' to 250' while maintaining optimal throughput.
The system range is virtually unlimited. By design, the system range is extended via multiple Access Points (Intel Wireless Gateway) arranged into an overlapping micro cell coverage arrangement?similar to a cellular telephone system. This allows for a virtually unlimited range via roaming, maximum throughput, redundancy, minimized interference issues, and increased communications reliability.
