Symptom(s): When a file download is started on a wireless network connection, and the laptop is then connected to a wired network connection, the download continues on the wireless connection.
Cause: Choosing the appropriate network connection is controlled by Windows XP, not by the device drivers or Intel® software.
Solution: Normal download behavior is that a download started using the wireless network connection will continue on the wireless network connection even though a wired network connection becomes available during the download. To switch to the wired network connection, stop the download and then resume or start the download again after connecting to the wired network.
The above procedure has been observed to fail when using Windows* XP with Service Pack 1 (SP1.) To resolve this issue apply Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Windows XP. For questions on Windows XP Service Pack 2, click here.
