Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software version 11.5 and later supports draft 2.0 of the IEEE* 802.11n specification and is Wi-Fi Certified* for 802.11n.
In May 2008, Draft 4.0 passed recirculation ballot #124. IEEE* Task Group 802.11n (TGn) also approved a recirculation ballot on a TGn Draft 5.0.
The final IEEE* 802.11n specification ratification is expected to be published in mid or late 2009. There are several revisions of the draft standard currently in publication. Products manufactured for different draft standards may not be interoperable. Draft standard products may not be compatible with final standard products or may require firmware (software) upgrades to be compatible with the final 802.11n standard.
