Use the following steps to update or upgrade the wireless adapter driver on Microsoft Windows* Vista.

Note	If you need to automate the process, use the file named iProdifx.exe from the driver package.

1. Download the updated driver(s) from your computer manufacturer. 

   Note	If your computer manufacturer does not provide the driver, you can download a generic version from Intel.

2. Click Start.
3. Click Control Panel.
4. Click System and Maintenance.
5. Click System.
6. Click Device Manager.
7. Click the + symbol in front of Network adapters to expand the section.
8. Right-click the wireless adapter
9. Click Properties. 
10. Click the Driver tab.
11. Click Update Driver.
12. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
13. Browse to the location where you saved the updated driver file(s) and then click Next.  
14. Click Close when the installation completes. If you return to the Driver tab at this point, the version of the updated driver should be displayed in the Driver Version field.
    

    Notes

    Digital Signer should show Microsoft as the signer for officially released drivers. If the wireless adapter fails after updating the driver, roll it back to the previously installed driver. Click Roll Back Driver from the Driver tab. Then click Yes to confirm the roll back operation.

Automate the Installation Process 

The following method can be used to automate the manual installation process if you have a driver package from your computer manufacturer.

1. Extract the driver files and save them to a location on your hard drive.
2. Navigate to the folder where you extracted the files and then to the Driver folder.
3. Run iProdifx.exe.
