Use the following steps to manually install the wireless adapter driver.
| Notes |
A manual installation will install the driver for the wireless adapter only; it will not install any associated software. Only certain wireless adapters are compatible with 64-bit operating systems: Intel® WiFi Link 5300, Intel® WiFi Link 5100, Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN, and Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection.
If you need to automate the process, use the file named iProdifx.exe from the driver package. |
- Intel recommends you download and install the updated driver(s) from your computer manufacturer. If updates are not available, you may choose to download and install an Intel generic ZIP package. The process shown here involves Intel generic drivers.
- Extract the driver files and save them to a location on your hard drive.
- Click Start > Control Panel .
- Click System Properties and select the Hardware tab.
- Click Device Manager .
- Click the + symbol in front of Network adapters to expand the section.

- Right-click the Network Controller and click Update Driver Software.
- Choose Browse my Computer for driver software.
- Navigate to the folder where the driver files are extracted.

- Click Next to initiate the installation.

- Click Finish after the installation has completed.
